What happens at my initial exam?
The initial exam gives us a chance to see what your dental needs are, as well as your anxieties, questions and concerns. You will have a chance to express your concerns and ask any questions. We will perform necessary X-rays (we use digital X-ray equipment for minimal radiation exposure) and a comprehensive oral evaluation. We will go over the treatment plan and X-rays, then together we’ll figure out the most efficient and comfortable way to proceed with your dental needs.
Will I have a cleaning done on my first visit?
Most patients will receive a cleaning (prophylaxis) on their first visit; however, there are a few types of cleanings, including deep cleaning (periodontal scaling and root Planing) which need to be completed in additional visits. Once we perform the comprehensive oral evaluation, we’ll determine what type of cleaning is best for you and discuss the timeline and fees.
Do you take insurance?
We are participating provider for most insurance plans, including Delta Dental (excluding Delta Care), Premera Blue Cross and Regence. We accept all insurance plans except Apple Health or State (Molina) Insurance. Before your first visit, we will contact your insurance company to acquire a breakdown of benefits, so when you arrive we can explain how you, your benefits and our fees work together. We highly recommend you familiarize yourself with all of your insurance plans restrictions and benefits. We will make sure we provide as much information as we can, but remember your plan is a contract with you and your company. As a courtesy, we will bill your insurance; however, regardless of insurance payment, any balance remaining will be your responsibility.
How do you bill?
We bill your insurance electronically. If there is any amount left that your insurance did not cover, we will bill you for the difference. For basic and major services, the patient portion is due at the time of service. If you are a cash patient, payment is due at the time of service.
How much will my treatments cost?
The cost of treatment varies significantly by treatment. After an exam, we will provide you with a breakdown of treatment costs and estimation of what your insurance covers.

What are dental implants?
A dental implant is a titanium screw that is placed in your jaw. This acts as an artificial substitute for tooth roots to anchor a single crown, bridge or denture in your mouth. Dental implants feel and act like natural teeth. You can do most things – laugh, talk, eat and smile – as you did with your natural teeth because your dental implants are permanent. Unlike bridges or dentures, dental implants also maintain the gum tissue and bone structure. Anyone at any age can be a good candidate for undergoing dental implant surgery. If you are missing teeth and think dental implants may be right for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Goharkhay. After examining your mouth, she will discuss the next treatment steps with you.
Do you do orthodontics?
Dr. Goharkhay is a Preferred Provider for Invisalign Clear Orthodontics. Invisalign is an FDA-approved system that uses clear, removable aligners to incrementally straighten your teeth. There are no uncomfortable brackets or wires, and because you remove the aligners to eat, drink, brush and floss, there are no food restrictions or problems. Call today for a free consultation!
Do you take same day emergency appointments?
Yes! We do our best to see you as soon as possible.
Do you see children, adults and elderly?
We see patients of all ages and start with children as early as 1 year. Most our patients bring their whole family to us, including grandparents and newborns. We provide a complete range of treatments such as preventive, restorative, Invisalign, cosmetic, implant, teeth extraction and dentures.
Why should I get a cavity filled if it doesn’t hurt?
Cavities tend to grow and are a sign of an active infection in the mouth. Even though they may not cause any pain or irritation, they may end up requiring a root canal if left untreated.
Are my silver fillings a health concern?
For years, silver was one of the best materials that dentists had to use for restoring teeth. Over time, however, silver fillings break down. At our practice, Dr. Goharkhay uses composite resin to fill cavities. Durable and long-lasting, these materials match the appearance of your natural teeth. These fillings are completely safe and require less healthy tooth structure to be removed.
